The documentary, Fannie's Last Supper, hosted by Christopher Kimball, brings the book alive for public television audiences including the life of Fannie Farmer, the founding of the Boston Cooking School, daily life for cooks in the 1890s and the process of testing and rediscovering the recipes of Fannie Farmer. The program also tracks the development of a 12-course high Victorian menu from concept up through service, ending in a formal Victorian dinner party given in Boston in a restored 1859 townhouse, just five blocks from where Fannie lived when she was director of the Boston Cooking School. This documentary will premiere on public television stations throughout the country during the Holiday 2010 season. Check local public TV listings for stations in your area for times.
